Role summary
This role is for a Senior Health Care Support Worker in Outpatients, working 37.5 hours per week. You will provide high-quality personal care and clinical duties under the supervision of a registered professional, both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The position involves supporting registered professionals in delivering safe, effective, and compassionate care to patients and their relatives. You will also participate in clinical care, prioritising workload, and developing competencies.
Key responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal care, beverages, and meals.
- Assist qualified nursing and medical staff as requested.
- Communicate with all team members to maintain good service provision.
- Undertake clinical activities such as spirometry, urinalysis, simple wound dressings, and capillary blood glucose monitoring after training.
- Alert the registered nurse to any changes in patients' health or potential risks.
- Obtain samples like wound swabs, urine specimens, and stool samples at the request of a Registered Health Care Professional.

- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care
- Effective level of numeracy and literacy skills

We are looking for a Senior Health Care Support Worker to work 37.5 hours per week.
The Senior Health Care Support Worker will undertake high quality, caring and compassionate personal care/clinical and associated duties under the direction and supervision of the registered professional both independently and working as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
As a Senior Health Care Support Worker, you make a valuable and important contribution to the delivery of high-quality healthcare in the Trust. Your role is to support the registered professional in the delivery of safe, effective, compassionate care to patients and their relatives.
