Role summary
This role is for an experienced Dermatology Specialist Nurse with expertise in biological therapies, skin cancer, and skin surgery. The post holder will provide specialist advice to healthcare professionals, patients, relatives, and carers for both inpatients and outpatients. They will manage their own caseload, perform phototherapy treatments, and support skin surgery, working within a multidisciplinary team.
Key responsibilities
- Provide high quality care to patients requiring systemic and biological therapy monitoring for psoriasis, eczema and acne.
- Perform phototherapy treatments to patients with skin conditions.
- Perform skin surgery and support for patients diagnosed with skin cancer.
- Support junior members of the team.

Essential criteria
- Experience working within Dermatology
- RGN Level 1
- Has First level degree, BSc Qualification or will be working towards attaining this.
- Effective interpersonal skills/liaison skills
- Must demonstrate commitment and enthusiasm for the senior post.
- Flexible approach to work to meet the needs of the department
Desirable criteria
- Clinical expertise in Dermatology procedures i.e phototherapy, minor surgery (i.e. performing of)
- Experience within Biological therapy monitoring
- Non-medical prescribing qualification.
- Phototherapy course or willingness to undertake

Job summary
We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and experienced Dermatology Specialist Nurse with an interest and understanding of biological therapies, skin cancer and skin surgery.
The post holder will be a designated specialty nurse for Dermatology within the Hospital and will provide specialist advise to healthcare professionals, patients, relatives and carer's for both inpatients and outpatients. Within the scope of professional practice, extend clinical skills and knowledge to change the emphasis where appropriate of delivery of care and treatment in the patient's interests and clinical advancements.
The successful candidate will work in a friendly, close knit multidisciplinary team of 5 consultant dermatologists, lead clinical nurse specialists, x2 clinical nurse specialists, x2 Dermatology staff nurses, x3 Dermatology healthcare assistants.
