Role summary
This role is for a motivated and dynamic MRI Radiographer to join the imaging team at Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust and Bodmin Community Diagnostic Centre. The successful candidate will perform a wide range of cross-sectional imaging examinations within MRI, working as part of a 13-hour/7-day service. They will also act as a shift co-ordinator in the absence of the Team Leader and contribute to improving the MRI service. The department supports career development and offers opportunities to widen specialist skills.
Essential criteria
- DCR / BSc in radiography
- HCPC registration
- Competency in MRI - current
Desirable criteria
- Post Graduate Qualification in MRI
- Working towards MRI or other CSI qualification
- 2 years Post Graduate Experience
- Cannulation and administration of IV drugs
- Experience of shift co-ordinator duties
- Clinical experience in other imaging modalities
- Practical & Intellectual Skills
- Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
- Portfolio evidence of CPD
- Ability to prioritise own workload and work under pressure.
- Good analytical and problem solving skills.
- Basic IT skills necessary to use specialist imaging equipment.
- To carry out audit and contribute to clinical governance.
- Ability and commitment to carry out IV cannulation and administration of IV drugs
- Ability to work across professional and organisational boundaries.
- Extensive clinical and technical knowledge in trauma, acute and general radiography including MRI
- Experience in using PACS and RIS
- Disposition adjustment & Attitude
- Pleasant, cheerful team player.

Job summary
RCHT & Bodmin Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) imaging is looking for motivated and dynamic Radiographers with specialist experience in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) with good communication skills and a highly developed sense of patient care to join our friendly and progressive team.
The MRI department currently has 4 Philips 1.5T MRI scanners with a service delivered at the Bodmin CDC since June 2024
The department currently takes student radiographers from Exeter University and is a training site for Radiologists. We also have Assistant Practitioners, Advanced Practitioners including Reporting Radiographers, and Consultant Radiographers in post and are committed to developing the knowledge and skills of our workforce.
You will be a valuable member of the team in the provision of a quality led and timely cross sectional imaging service. We actively support and encourage Radiographers in their career development and are committed to providing increased opportunities to widen specialist skills, extend roles and deliver advanced practice. There is an active CPD and audit calendar within the department with involvement from all staff groups.
This is a permanent full time position.
