Role summary
This role is for a motivated and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant in the Pre-Assessment department. The successful candidate will coordinate the administrative, physical, and psychological care of patients attending clinics for assessment. They will ensure a high standard of care, maintain quality and safety, and contribute to meeting evolving service needs. The position requires excellent communication, good practical and organisational skills, and an understanding of the pre-assessment pathway.
Key responsibilities
- Undertake assessment of identified patients through the triaging process ensuring fitness to proceed to surgery.
- Responsible for taking and recording basic observations on EPIC.
- To provide assistance to medical and nursing staff as and when required.
- To take an active part in Pre Assessment meetings and discussions.
- Phlebotomy.
Essential criteria
- Experience of working within a healthcare environment for 2 years
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to manage own workload
