Role summary
This role is for a Senior Peer Facilitator with lived experience of mental health services to support others. You will help develop a peer network, enhance recruitment and training of Peer Facilitators, and promote recovery principles within the Early Intervention Service. The position involves using personal experience to inspire hope and empower service users.
Essential criteria
- Good level of secondary education in Maths and English at GCSE or equivalent level
- Level 3 Peer Worker Apprenticeship or relative qualification Or Commitment to work towards Level 3 Peer Worker Apprenticeship
- Lived experience of mental health illness and experience of accessing secondary care services.
- Wide range of life experiences to bring an enabling and positive view of opportunities for others
- Understanding of the issues and concerns of mental health service users
- Experience of working in a mental health peer support/ facilitation role
- Ability to maintain boundaries and form a positive therapeutic relationship with service users and carers
- Experience of liaising with other agencies and partners
- Motivated and enthusiastic
- Able to work using a non-judgmental manner
- Adaptable to change
