Role summary
This role is for a motivated Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy Stores and Procurement team. It involves operational leadership within the pharmacy supply chain and direct patient-facing responsibilities. You will oversee stores and distribution, ensure compliance, and support the wider team. The role also includes contributing to dispensary services, medicines optimisation, and patient counselling, making a direct impact on patient care.
Essential criteria
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Accredited Checking Technician qualification.
Desirable criteria
- Medicines Optimisation qualification, or willingness to work towards this.
- Strong clinical and dispensary knowledge with excellent attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work confidently with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
- Good IT skills and the ability to prioritise workload, make sound decisions and work accurately under pressure.
- Experience managing workload effectively within a team to meet service demands.
- Knowledge of pharmacy stores, distribution and medicines supply processes.
- Experience working in a busy hospital pharmacy dispensary environment.

- Committed to maintaining professional standards and continuing professional development

Job summary
We are looking for a motivated and proactive Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy Stores and Procurement team.
This varied role combines operational leadership within the pharmacy supply chain with direct patient-facing responsibilities, supporting the safe, effective and efficient delivery of pharmacy services across the Trust.
Working closely with the Senior Pharmacy Technician, you will help oversee stores and distribution activities, ensure compliance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and Wholesale Dealer Authorisation (WDA) requirements, and act as a key point of support for the wider team.
You will also contribute to dispensary services, medicines optimisation initiatives, medicines reconciliation, patient counselling and discharge planning, making a direct impact on patient care.
Based at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, this is an excellent role for a skilled pharmacy professional looking to develop their leadership, operational and clinical experience within a dynamic hospital environment.
Additional working pattern details: Monday to Friday, Providing weekend, Bank Holiday and Late cover as per rota
