Role summary
This is a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover role for an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the End of Life and Bereavement Service at The Christie. The successful candidate will provide expert clinical advice, emotional support, and specialist care to patients with advanced cancer and their families. The role involves working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, supporting advance care planning, and educating colleagues on end-of-life care. Essential criteria
- NMC Registered Nurse
- Degree in Nursing/Healthcare related subject
- Post registration qualification in Palliative/Oncology care
- Teaching & assessing module
- Non-Medical Prescribing, or working towards
Desirable criteria
- Management / Leadership qualification
- Masters level study
- Clinical Skills level 6/7 module
- Counselling qualification
- Qualification in Bereavement Care
- Experience in specialist palliative/oncology setting
- Experience of audit/research Participation in service development and implementation of change
- Able to work autonomously and part of a team
- Experience providing Bereavement support
- Advanced communication skills
- Able to perform advanced clinical assessment skills
- Leadership/management skills
- Ability to produce high standard written and verbal reports
- Ability to develop effective interpersonal relationship with colleagues across health and social care setting
- Ability to work to deadlines Evidence of writing protocols/standards
- Knowledge of professional and NHS issues, and policy relating to supportive, palliative and cancer care
