Role summary
This role is for a Safeguarding Adult Practitioner within the CHS Integrated Safeguarding Team. The post holder will provide expert advice, guidance, and training to staff across community and acute settings to fulfil statutory safeguarding responsibilities. It is a developmental opportunity to build specialist safeguarding knowledge and skills through supervised practice and mentorship. The practitioner will contribute to a highly visible and responsive safeguarding service across Croydon Health Services, working flexibly across acute and community settings.
Essential criteria
- Statutory professional body registration; Adult Nursing, Mental Health Nursing.
- Professional Degree or Diploma or Post Graduate qualification in specialist field.
Desirable criteria
- Additional training in relation to; train the trainer, DoLS.
- knowledge and understanding
- Knowledge of Law & Legislation, and national policies, including; Care Act (2014), Mental Capacity Act (2005), DoLS, PREVENT, Domestic Abuse Act (2021).
- Demonstrate an awareness of the complex issues involved when working across organisations and disciplines.
- Understanding of NMC Code of Conduct and scope of professional practice.
- Understanding of audit and research processes
- 3 years clinical nursing experience.
- Experience of working with adults who were at risk or experiencing abuse/neglect, including management/co-ordination.
- Evidence of multi-agency working.
- Experience of delivering training
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Experience of report writing
- Experience of auditing

The CHS Integrated Safeguarding Team provides expert advice, guidance, and training to all Croydon Health Services (CHS) staff across community and acute settings, enabling them to effectively fulfil their statutory responsibilities for safeguarding adults and children.
