Role summary
As a Clinical Support Worker on Ward 25, you will support children and young people aged 0-18 during their hospital journey, providing compassionate, safe, and personalised care. You will assist with personal care, nutrition, hydration, comfort, and mobility, promoting dignity and independence. Following training, you will undertake clinical duties like recording observations and escalating concerns. Essential criteria

- GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
- Care Certificate
- Apprenticeship Level 3 in Care or equivalent vocational experience
- Further Training
- Ability to attend 3 day clinical induction
- Committed to attending further training and development as identified
- Able to demonstrate clear and robust verbal and written English communication skills
- Experience of working as a team
- Previous care work experience
- Previous face-to-face customer care experience
- Previous experience in a hospital setting

- Able to work flexibly on a varied shift pattern according to the roster including nights and weekends

Job summary
As a Clinical Support Worker on Ward 25, you will play a vital and rewarding role in supporting children and young people aged 0-18 during their hospital journey. Working alongside Registered Nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will help provide compassionate, safe and personalised care to patients with a range of medical and surgical needs.
You will make a meaningful difference every day by supporting children with personal care, nutrition, hydration, comfort and mobility, while promoting dignity, independence and wellbeing. Following appropriate training and competency assessment, you will undertake clinical duties such as recording observations and blood glucose levels, recognising changes in a patient's condition and promptly escalating concerns.
The role is varied and offers the opportunity to contribute to the smooth running of the ward, including maintaining a safe environment, supporting clinical activities, monitoring supplies and assisting with patient transfers and investigations.
