Role summary

This is a fixed-term Band 5 Therapeutic Radiographer position for 7 months to cover maternity leave at Lincoln Radiotherapy Department. Key responsibilities

  • Assist in the provision of a high quality Radiotherapy service.
  • Work as part of the radiographic team on all treatment units (linear accelerators).

  • Work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 7.30am and 7.30pm, with shift flexibility.

Essential criteria

  • DCR(T) or BSc (Hons) in Radiotherapy and Oncology or equivalent.
  • HCPC registration
  • Recent experience in the NHS environment
  • Training in all aspects of radiotherapy treatment and planning
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deal with stressful situations.
  • An understanding of basic techniques.
  • Awareness of all legislation relevant to the post.
  • Good organisational skills
  • Careful and willing to pay attention to detail.

Job summary

We are looking to recruit a dynamic and enthusiastic B5 into our team for a period of 7 months to cover maternity leave

Lincoln Radiotherapy Department is comprised of 2 Varian Truebeam and Halcyon linear accelerators, 1 CT scanner and a brachytherapy theatre. We are national leaders in surface guided radiotherapy (SGRT) and one of the country's first tattooless departments. We are the regional lead for prostate brachytherapy, providing both high dose rate and low dose rate radioactive seed implantation. We also offer brachytherapy for gynaecological cancers.

We have several specialist radiographers within the department supporting patients through their treatment. We offer radiographer led review clinics, a late effects service and Macmillan specialist support. We have a Head and Neck Specialist Radiographer and are looking to grow our site-specific specialist team. We have a Consultant Radiographer and trainee ACP in Palliative Radiotherapy to support patients on this pathway.
