Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 3 Elective Admissions Officer within the Cardiothoracic Clinical Board. The role involves coordinating waiting lists efficiently, liaising with consultants and admin teams to ensure accuracy and optimal theatre utilisation. You will be responsible for maintaining waiting lists in line with Trust policies and patient access targets, ensuring a quality patient experience. The position requires excellent organisational and communication skills, working in a fast-paced environment to meet 18 Week Waiting times.
Essential criteria
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent level qualification or experience
- Knowledge & Experience
- Previous administration experience
- Knowledge of MS Office (incl. Excel, Word & Outlook)
Desirable criteria
- Operational Experience of Waiting List Management Processes
- Knowledge of Trust eRecord system
- Understanding of NHS Waiting list management definitions
- Understanding of the NHS Constitution and NHS Operating Framework
- Customer service and call handling experience
- NHS administration experience

This position requires excellent organisational and communication skills to ensure our 18 Week Waiting times are met.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate experience of working in a fast-paced environment to ensure robust and timely management of Waiting Lists. You will work alongside a range of Consultants and Admin teams, therefore it is essential that you have the ability to build relationships and maintain a professional approach.
