Role summary
This role is for a Band 3 Pharmacy Specialist Support Worker within the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will contribute to the delivery of safe, effective, and timely Production services, ensuring compliance with legislation and guidelines. They will undertake preparations across all areas of the Production unit. The role requires computer literacy, strong communication skills, and the ability to work accurately and manage one's own workload.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure Production services are delivered in a safe, effective, economic and timely manner.
- Ensure all procedures are carried out in accordance with current legislation and guidelines.
- Undertake preparations in all areas of the Production unit.
- Work accurately within departmental SOP's to maintain quality standards.
- Prioritise workload effectively.
Essential criteria
- 4 GCSE's Grade A-C to include English, Maths, Science NVQ level 2 Pharmacy services
- NVQ level 2 Pharmacy services
- Flexibility with regard to changes in work schedule
- Must do Late duty, Weekend duties and bank holidays as rostered
- Interest in development of others
- Interest in expanding knowledge and self development
- Awareness of Equal Opportunities

- Familiar with computer systems and basic keyboard skills
- Ability to deal directly with public & other health service professionals

- Environmental monitoring in clean rooms

Job summary
The Pharmacy Service is comprehensive, and we have a full range of services including Inpatient and Outpatient dispensary service, ward-based clinical pharmacy, Medicines Information, aseptic and non-sterile production services. Specialist clinical pharmacists provide direct clinical input into medicines management in several clinical areas including HIV, general medicine, emergency services, surgery, rheumatology, anti-coagulation, oncology & haematology, women's health, paediatrics and infection control.
The post holder will ensure that Production services are delivered in a safe, effective, economic and timely manner ensuring that all procedures are carried out in accordance with current legislation and guidelines and undertake preparations in all areas of the Production unit.
Main duties of the job
Computer literate Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills -Ability to deal directly with public & other health service professionals.
Ability to work in certain posture for prolonged period of time, e.g., sitting upright to prepare drugs in an isolator.
