Role summary
This part-time Rehabilitation Assistant role involves working 22.5 hours per week within the Inpatient Therapy Team at North Cotswolds Community Hospital. The successful candidate will assist therapists in assessing, planning, and delivering rehabilitation programs to patients, focusing on facilitating independence for discharge. The role primarily supports the Occupational Therapy team but includes cross-working with Physiotherapy. In-house training and support will be provided, with expectations to deliver interventions independently once competent.
Key responsibilities
- Assist registered professionals to plan and carry out treatment interventions with patients.

- Maintain excellent communication with team members, patients, relatives, and outside organisations.
- Potentially visit patients in their own homes in the community.
Essential criteria
- Reasonable level of education in numeracy and literacy (GCSE pass or equivalent)
- NVQ in a relevant topic (such as health care)
- Experience of working in a rehabilitation/health care environment
- Demonstrable understanding of Occupational Therapy
- Demonstrable understanding of Physiotherapy
Desirable criteria
- Previous NHS experience
- Practical experience of motivating service users; encouraging independence
- Knowledge and understanding of polices underpinning work within a health and social care setting (safeguarding/deprivation of liberty/health and safety).
- Evidence of continuous personal development

Job summary
This post is part time, 22.5 hours per week.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual, with some experience of healthcare, to join our small but effective Inpatient Therapy Team.
The successful candidate will work as a member of the Inpatient Therapy Team to assist the therapists to assess, plan and deliver rehabilitation programs to our patients at North Cotswolds Community Hospital. Their primary role is to facilitate independence with activities of daily living, with the aim of enabling patients to be discharged to their home/appropriate setting.
The Therapy team comprises of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and rehabilitation assistants. On the job support and education will be provided. This role will predominantly be to support the Occupational Therapy team, but will involve some cross working between OT and Physio teams.
Rehabilitation assistants work closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team, including the nursing staff, in supporting and providing an effective rehabilitation programme and discharge planning.
