Role summary
This Therapy Assistant role is within the North Community Recovery Therapy Team, focusing on delivering high-quality patient care. Key responsibilities
- Undertake patient/client visits and further develop skills in assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of patient/client health and well-being needs.
- Carry out non-complex assessments within scope of practice and provide direct care and support to patients in their own homes.
- Identify changes in patients' conditions and communicate effectively with the Multidisciplinary team.
- Organise own workload, establish priorities, and work unsupervised in patients' homes.
- Assess for and order a wide range of equipment to promote independence and provide support and supervision to Health Care Assistants as required.
- Maintain and improve IT skills, contributing to statistical and audit returns.
Essential criteria
- GCSE (A-C) English/Maths or equivalent
- Minimum Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care or equivalent higher apprenticeship
- A willingness to undertake further training and learn new skills
- Significant experience of working as a therapy support worker or equivalent (band 3)
- To have a knowledge of assistive equipment and minor adaptations
- To understand the concepts of rehabilitation
- To have experience of working in a relevant healthcare settings
- To have experience of effectively managing own caseload
- To have an ability to deal with pressurised/unexpected situations
- To have evidence of continuing personal and appropriate judgments and decisions
- Evidence of working in a multidisciplinary team
- Aware of health and safety requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Keyboard skills / use of software programmes e.g. Word, Excel
- Ability to work independently and with resources using own initiative as required.
- Must be able to demonstrate their contribution to the team as a therapy assistant

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the North Community Recovery Therapy Team.
The role of the Therapy Assistant is to deliver high quality, caring and compassionate patient care.
The post holder will be responsible for undertaking assessment, implementation and evaluation of patient care needs for a defined group of patients under the indirect supervision of a registered professional in their specialist area.
The post holders are required to work as part of a team committed to delivering and improving a high standard of care within North Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust.
This role covers vast amounts of area's such as Coleshill, Tamworth, Nuneaton and other North area's. Therefore, you should expect to travel distances.
You will be required to come into the Hartshill base regular to support the team and assist with patient co-ordination.
Must have a driving licence and have permanent access to a vehicle to fulfil the role.
