Role summary

This role involves managing the Trust's preceptorship and clinical supervision programmes to ensure the clinical workforce receives appropriate development and support. The manager will oversee clinical induction, develop and evaluate preceptorship policies and training, and manage the clinical supervision process. They will work with clinical divisions to enhance staff practice and support career development initiatives. The post holder will also be responsible for line managing Clinical Development Facilitators and administrative staff.

Job summary

The Preceptorship and Clinical Supervision Manager

will ensure that the clinical workforce have access to the appropriate development and supervision support in line with regulatory requirements.

The post holder will ensure that all clinical staff have access to a clinical induction, preceptorship programme and clinical supervision.

The post holder will work in partnership with the clinical divisions to develop clinical staff that require additional support to improve and develop their clinical practice.

The post holder will also support with preparation to role work across the service, providing support with career events, interview preparation and application support where appropriate

Main duties of the job

1. Manage the clinical induction process ensuring that all divisions have the appropriate support required to develop and maintain a local clinical induction.

2. Develop manage and eva evaluate the Trust Preceptorship programme, ensuring an evidence-based preceptorship document is in place. Ensure a robust database is developed and maintained that identifies all preceptees progress and completion information as appropriate.
