Role summary
This role is for an enthusiastic, hardworking registered Pharmacy Technician to join an expanding team at Countess of Chester Hospital. You will perform ward duties, including topping up and ordering inpatient medications, and dispensary duties such as preparing and supplying medications. The position requires high accuracy, excellent communication, and the ability to work under pressure, with opportunities for further skill development like a BTEC level 4 ACT Qualification.
Essential criteria
- NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services with appropriate underpinning knowledge (BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent)
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with GPhC
- CPD portfolio inline with GPC requirements

- Thorough understanding of policies and procedures
- Knowledge and Experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Pharmacy
- Good understanding of hospital pharmacy & experience

Job summary
Working Full time: 37.5 hours per week
We are looking to recruit enthusiastic, hardworking registered Technicians to join our expanding Pharmacy Team. We are looking for Technicians who are motivated and keen to develop their skills as part of an integrated team. Our qualified staff are expected to have a positive work ethic, be flexible and reliable.
Hospital experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to further their skills by completing a BTEC level 4 ACT Qualification. As part of our integrated team, there will be opportunities to work on wards within the main hospital performing top ups and ordering medications for inpatients.
High levels of accuracy are essential as well as the ability to work well under pressure. We are looking for individuals who are confident, have excellent communication and organisation skills and who can use their own initiative to provide a safe and effective service to our patients.
Dispensary based duties will include preparation, dispensing, and supply of medications to a variety of patients. You will be expected to have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to counsel patients effectively.
