Role summary
This role involves supporting the Neurology Team by providing specialist clinical expertise and high-quality care to patients with neurological conditions. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, offering expert advice, guidance, education, and psychological support to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals. The post holder will also contribute to the continuous development of nursing practice, clinical audit, quality improvement, and risk management initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and experience. It requires a motivated and compassionate nurse with a passion for neurology.
Key responsibilities
- To co-ordinate a clinical workload in liaison with the appropriate medical physician and departmental manager.
- To ensure that agreed standards of nursing practice are maintained.
- To perform assessment of Neurology patients, before and during treatment.
- Actively support/enhance good communication between members of the multi- disciplinary team, the patient and their carers.
- To maintain accurate patient records.
- To actively participate in the collation of data for research and audit purposes.
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse
- Broad knowledge base with an interest in the field of Neurology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team, independently and on own initiative
Desirable criteria
- Experience of teaching health professionals and patients

The post holder will play a key role in supporting the Neurology Team by delivering specialist clinical expertise and high-quality care to patients with neurological conditions.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide an excellent standard of nursing care while developing and enhancing your specialist knowledge and skills within Neurology.
You will act as a key resource for patients, carers, and healthcare professionals, offering expert advice, guidance, education, and psychological support throughout the patient journey.
The role also involves contributing to the continuous development of nursing practice by promoting evidence-based care, reviewing current practices, and supporting the implementation of improvements that enhance patient outcomes and experience.
In addition, you will contribute to clinical audit, quality improvement, and risk management initiatives, helping to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality Neurology services.
