Role summary
This role is for a Chef Supervisor passionate about modern cooking to join the catering team at University Hospitals of North Midlands. You will prepare and present high-quality meals for patients, staff, and visitors, ensuring all dietary and nutritional requirements are met. Key responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present a wide range of high-quality meals for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Conduct pre-service briefings on allergen information, portion sizes, and service expectations.
- Develop and contribute to innovative menus for retail and staff catering services.
- Ensure all food is produced safely and hygienically, adhering to NHS food standards and HACCP.
- Supervise and support Catering Assistants during food production and service.
- Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all food preparation and service areas.
Essential criteria
- NVQ Level 2 in Professional or Equivalent Catering Qualification
- Level 2 Food Safety / Allergen Training
- Fresh Food Preparation and Cooking Skills
- High Volume Kitchen Experience
Desirable criteria
- NVQ Level 3 in Professional Cookery or Equivalent Higher-Level Qualification
- Level 3 or above Food Safety / Advanced Allergen Training Level 3
- Previous Experience in Hospital/ Contract Catering
