Role summary
Join the Children and Young People's Therapies Team as a Speech and Language Therapist. This role is suitable for newly qualified therapists looking to develop clinical and professional skills. You will manage a mainstream school-aged caseload and receive comprehensive support, including a 2-year Preceptorship programme and regular supervision. The service uses evidence-based therapy approaches delivered individually or in groups.
Essential criteria
- Able to travel between a range of clinical locations
- EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
- Recognised Speech & Language Therapy degree qualification or equivalent
- Health Professions Council Licence to Practice
- Evidence of continuing professional development and personal development.
- Attendance of relevant Special Interest Group or Clinical Excellence Network
- Registered member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
- SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE
- Ability to write detailed reports on patients' care to ensure interpretation by other professionals and parents.
- Ability to negotiate compromises and resolve conflict between staff amicably
- Clear concise verbal and written communication to ensure liaison with multidisplinary team, patients and carers and to ensure records are kept accurately and in a timely manner
- Knowledge of specific therapy methods and programmes for the treatment of children.
- Able to identify own strengths and needs
- Able to identify when to seek support
- Demonstrates the ability to reflect on practice with peers/clinical supervisor

- Demonstrates knowledge of national policies and procedures relevant to client group
