Role summary
This is a full-time Senior Band 7 Learning Disabilities Nurse role within the CAMHS Learning Disability team in Bristol and South Gloucestershire. The post holder will provide specialist clinical assessment, formulation, and treatment to young people (up to 18 years old) with moderate to severe learning disabilities, mental health needs, and challenging behaviour, as well as their families. They will lead in improving the quality of support and early identification/treatment of mental health issues and challenging behaviour. The role involves managing an active caseload, offering consultation and training, and promoting joint working within the multidisciplinary team.
Essential criteria
- UK Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse
- Formal post-graduate diploma level qualification in a relevant field e.g. PBS, Non-Medical Prescribing, Clinical Leadership, CBT, or can demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge and expertise gained in practice
- Recognised skills and knowledge in specialist area
- Significant experience of working in a community learning disabilities team at Band 6 or above
- Experience of working with children, young people and families
- Significant post-qualifying experience of providing specialist assessment, treatment and co-ordinating care.

- Skills with PBS Positive Behaviour Support Planning
- Teaching & Assessment Qualification

Job summary
An opening has arisen for a full time role Senior Band 7 Learning Disabilities Nurse to join the CAMHS Learning Disability team in Bristol and South Gloucestershire.
CAMHS LD work with children up to 18 years old who have a Moderate to Severe Learning Disability and who experience a range of mental health needs and challenging behaviour.
The successful applicant will join a small established, and friendly multidisciplinary team consisting of Psychiatry, Psychology, Nursing and Support Workers.
The post holder will provide specialist clinical assessment, formulation and treatment to young people and their families, specialist schools and the wider network.
The successful candidate will have an interest and experience in working with children and families with moderate to severe LD.
