Role summary
This is a part-time, fixed-term Senior Occupational Therapist role for 12 months, covering maternity leave within the Community Response Service. The role involves facilitating early hospital discharges and providing short-term rehabilitation to patients in their own homes, working within a multidisciplinary team. You will manage a complex caseload, assess and implement interventions, and provide clinical education and support.
Essential criteria
- Degree in O.T.
- State registered with Health Care Professions Council
- Practice placement qualification
- Experience and knowledge
- Documented evidence of continuing professional development
- Substantial post registration experience with relevant experience in specialist area including individual and group work
- Experience and working understanding of audit procedures
Desirable criteria
- Experience of O.T. practice in varied settings
- Experience of research procedures
- Knowledge of or experience in coaching and mentoring practices and tools
- Knowledge of or experience in Quality improvement tools, techniques and methods
- It is an essential requirement of the role that the post holder has a valid driving licence and is either a car owner and able to use the car for work purposes, or has a Trust personal lease vehicle which may be used for the role. However, the Trust would consider making reasonable adjustments to the role, if necessary, to enable a disabled person to undertake the role

Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a part time Senior Occupational Therapist to cover maternity leave on a fixed term contract for 12 months.
This is a fantastic and exciting opportunity to join a dynamic developing team and be at the cutting edge of delivering acute care to patients in their own home.
The Community Response Service team facilitates early discharges from hospital, who otherwise would have stayed in hospital due to therapy needs, and provide rehab for up to 2 weeks to meet the short-term goals for them to be able to remain at home. They work with the virtual ward teams and other teams within Community Response Service to provide assessments to those who are at risk of hospital admission.
You will be part of a large multidisciplinary team and have opportunities to work individually and with Physiotherapists, Nurse Practitioners, Occupational Therapists, Pharmacists and other Associate Therapy Practitioners.
