Job summary

This post is based in the Respiratory, Surgical, and Vascular Therapy Team and the successful candidate will be based on the Intensive Care Unit. You must demonstrate proven experience in managing critically ill patients with complex needs--specifically demonstrating secure clinical knowledge in invasive and non-invasive ventilation, tracheostomy care, and holistic rehabilitation. An understanding of the long-term physical and psychological impacts of critical illness is highly desirable.

Operating both autonomously and as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team, you will manage your own clinical caseload while delegating appropriate tasks to optimize service efficiency. Excellent communication, strong organizational abilities, and a flexible approach are essential to adapt to the dynamic demands of the service.

The postholder will also be responsible for supervising less experienced staff, therapy assistants and students including completing formal supervision and yearly developmental reviews with the staff you supervise. You will be responsible for your own caseload and delegating workload accordingly.

The postholder will be expected to partake in weekend working and the On Call Rota.
