Role summary

This is a part-time permanent position for a Registered Nurse to join the Discharge Lounge team at Lister Hospital. The role involves supporting the senior sister in ensuring high-quality patient care, promoting professional standards, and maintaining a clean environment. The successful candidate will work to ensure effective communication and adherence to professional conduct and trust policies.

Essential criteria

  • Registered Nurse on part 1, part 2 or part 12 of the NMC register
  • Commitment to lifelong learning
  • Evidence of further education, training and on-going learning
  • Ability to produce updated personal professional portfolio

Desirable criteria

  • Evidence of Assessing and Mentorship qualification
  • Evidence of appropriate Specialist Qualification
  • Evidence of good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Good self-awareness of professional limitations within NMC Code of Conduct
  • Ability to prioritise workload and demonstrate good organisational skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Venipuncture and cannulation
  • Understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion
  • Role model our Trust values every day
  • Awareness of strategies for maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors
  • Flexibility around working hours with clinical and rotational shifts
  • Resource management (awareness of budget/supplies)

Discharge lounge in Lister hospital is looking for an energetic and proactive staff nurse to join our small team to help the flow .

This is a part time position and no night shifts available.

We are open 7 days a week including bank holidays.

Main duties of the job

Support the senior sister to ensure that the care delivered in the clinical area is of the highest quality, supported by research and in accordance with local and national policies, procedures and guidelines.

Be a professional lead for the nursing team, promoting the highest standard of patient care.

Work with the senior sister in the development, monitoring and auditing of standards of patient care within the department and implementing the necessary.

Ensure that patients, their families and carers have access to information that is current and allows them to make relevant and necessary decisions in order to participate in their co
