Role summary
This role involves coordinating urgent and emergency admissions into acute psychiatric beds during night shifts (8pm to 8:30am) across Kent and Medway. The successful candidate will work in the UECCC, ensuring patients receive appropriate care by guiding the admission process, collaborating with community colleagues, and facilitating multi-professional calls to resolve challenges. The position also includes mentoring staff to maintain high standards of patient flow.
Essential criteria
- Clinical qualification e.g. RMN, Occupational Therapist or Mental Health Social Worker
- Be a mentorship/practice educator or have experience
- Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to exert influence, negotiation and develop a meaningful and sensitive communication style to build and sustain working relationships
- Bed management knowledge
- IT skills
- A minimum of 2 years previous experience as a Band 5 (or equivalent social work grade) with mental health experience, including functional and organic disorders. Based on need not age.
- Inpatient experience
- Training, Qualifications and Registration
