Role summary
This role is for a Family Support Worker within the Community CAMHS West team, serving children, young people, and families in Nottinghamshire. The post holder will deliver therapeutic interventions and psychoeducation under supervision, working within the Choice and Partnership Approach framework. Key responsibilities include engaging with families, maintaining records, and collaborating with other agencies to strengthen emotional health and wellbeing. The role requires a commitment to multi-agency working and supporting the team environment.
Essential criteria
- Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
- Willingness to undertake education and training that will enhance service delivery.
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of different models of therapy e.g., CBT, psychodynamic psychotherapy, solution focused therapy.
- Experience of working with young people presenting with a wide range of different emotional & mental health needs.
- Proven ability to engage and develop therapeutic relationships with children, young people, and their families.
- Experience of delivering therapeutic interventions under supervision.
- Experience of Multi agency & multi-disciplinary working.
- Proven ability to recognise and respond to identified safeguarding concerns.
- Ability to maintain accurate, contemporaneous case records in line with Trust policies and procedure.
- Able to work on own initiative; prioritise and mange own caseload with support as necessary.
- Experience in the meaningful use of Routine Outcome Measures (ROMS) in clinical practice.
- Community experience
- Experience in delivering group interventions/treatments.
- Experience in providing evidence-based treatments and interventions to children, young people, and their families/carers.
- Awareness of legislation, policy and guidance relating to Children and young people and emotional and mental health.
- Knowledge of and commitment to anti discriminatory/ anti oppressive practice and equal opportunity
- Knowledge of child and adult safeguarding.
- Knowledge and experience of managing own time well and ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Knowledge and application of behaviour programmes and support for parents of children with emotional health problems.
- Ability to work as part of a team/ good interpersonal skills.
- Good written/oral communication skills.
- Effective time management and organisational skills.
- IT skills
- Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues and other agencies using appropriate language, sensitivity and skills which acknowledge differences and diversity.
- Contractual Requirements
- Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs to the service.
- A full UK driving license and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

Job summary
The post holder will be a member of the Community CAMHS West team which offers a service to children, young people, and their families within Nottinghamshire, which consists of Mansfield, Ashfield and Hucknall areas.
As a Family Support Worker, you will work within the Choice and Partnership Approach framework. The post holder will support partnership working through offering young people and their family's choice and flexibility in the service they receive. The post holder will utilise Routine Outcome Measures (ROMS) to ensure partnership working which is goal specific.
The post also requires close liaison with a broad range of other disciplines and agencies, including health, education, social care, and voluntary agencies. The post holder works as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the framework of the services policies and procedures
Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
