Role summary

Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Same Day Emergency Care department (SDEC).

- Manage ward staff establishment, including rostering and absence.
- Work with Matron and senior team members to assure ward standards and improve efficiency and patient experience.
Essential criteria
- Current NMC qualification
- Practice Assessor/sign off mentor course
- Experience in an acute setting either acute medicine or ED
- Experience in managing staff with awareness of HR policies and procedures
- Experience in mentoring junior staff and students

- Leadership course
- ALS
- Acute adult care course or Acute assessment course

Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Ward Manager to lead and manage our Same Day Emergency Care department (SDEC) on a secondment at the Princess Alexandra NHS Trust based in Harlow.
