Role summary
This role supports the Rapid Diagnostic Centre (RDC) to ensure prompt diagnosis and tracking of patients, especially those with vague cancer symptoms. Key responsibilities
- Capture and record up-to-date patient information on Trust databases.
- Work with the Service Lead to develop and monitor locally and nationally agreed datasets.
- Assist with monitoring waiting times for new cancer patients.
- Produce timely reports as required.
- Track all patients attending the service, including newly diagnosed cancer patients, to ensure treatment within national timescales.
- Maintain a detailed database and tracking system for diagnostic tests and results.
Essential criteria
- Good academic standard - including maths and english
- IT skills, including Excel/spreadsheet and Word
- NHS experience
- Ability to compile reports as required.
- Ability to establish and maintain a patient tracking database Ability to prioritise workload, and adjust own work in light of unexpected events (to changing priorities). To be able to use own initiative planning own work for the day/week and work unsupervised where appropriate.

Job summary
