Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Horsham Neighbourhood Mental Health Team (NHMT) Adults Service. You will provide person-centred, recovery-focused support to adults with serious mental health difficulties, helping them achieve recovery goals and improve quality of life through meaningful occupation. The role involves delivering innovative occupation-focused interventions and facilitating therapeutic groups. You will be based in Horsham, providing assessments and treatments, and liaising with various services to support clients' mental health and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities
- Provide assessments and treatment for clients with severe and enduring mental health conditions.
- Liaise with acute care services, Crisis cafes, Police Street triage options, and Police Custody Healthcare.
- Plan and provide a range of occupational assessments and treatments to promote recovery and wellbeing.
- Provide occupational therapy interventions using evidence-based, client-centred principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions.
Essential criteria
- Degree/Diploma in occupational therapy
- Evidence of post graduate level study/training
- Registration with the HPC as an occupational therapist
- Practice Education training
- Training in the use of standardised occupational therapy assessment tools
