Role summary
This is a 12-month fixed-term post for a Locum Rheumatology and General Medicine Consultant or a Specialist Doctor in Rheumatology at Inverclyde Royal Hospital. The role involves supporting inpatient care and participating in the medical receiving rota. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team and contribute to the future design of the service. Key responsibilities
- Support delivery of inpatient care.
- Participate in the IRH consultant medical receiving rota (for Consultant applicants).
- Contribute to the Interface Directorate, potentially supporting patient pathways, providing clinical advice, cross-site working or appropriate virtual clinical activity (for Specialist Doctor).
- Join an extensive team of Acute and General Physicians.
Essential criteria
- Full GMC registration and a licence to practise.
- Consultant applicants: FRCA (or equivalent) and eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
- Specialist Doctor applicants: Completed a minimum of 10 years’ medical work (either continuous period or in aggregate) since obtaining a primary medical qualification of which a minimum of six years should have been in a relevant specialty in the Specialty Doctor and/or closed SAS grades. Equivalent years’ experience in a relevant specialty from other medical grades including from overseas will also be accepted.

Desirable criteria
