Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic nurse to join the Forensic Directorate's new physical health team as a Physical Health Nurse Band 7. The role involves working closely with staff and service users to improve physical health outcomes within the forensic service. Responsibilities include embedding physical health care systems, facilitating clinics, liaising with primary care, and supporting staff education. The post holder will manage a caseload and support primary nurses with physical health care planning.
Essential criteria
- Registered first level health care professional e.g. NMC registered Nurse (RGN), OT Diploma in LTC
- First or higher degree in nursing related subject supplemented by post-graduate diploma specialist training and experience
- Extended/Supplementary nurse prescriber
- IAPT-LTC training
- oExperience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
- oExperience working in a team leader role
- oExperience of effective organisation planning and monitoring of service delivery
- oDemonstrable experience and understanding of health and social care

- oPost nursing registration experience
- oRunning Clozapine Clinic
- oExperience of providing care in line with Long term condition agenda
- oAbility to think strategically
- oEvidence of knowledge in current professional issues
- oExperience of presenting information to a wider audience

Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic nurse to work within the Forensic Directorate. The post holder will be joining for our new physical health team as a Physical health Nurse Band 7. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with staff and service users to improve the physical health outcomes for our service users within the forensic service. We are looking for someone who is keen to improve physical health in mental health nursing skills, who will be working alongside a group of physical health professionals including dietitian, sports therapist, physical health nurses, physical health engagement practitioner and inpatient multidisciplinary teams. They will be responsible for embedding the physical health care systems inpatient wards, facilitating physical health clinics, working close with primary care services and supporting education and training needs for inpatient staff. The post holder will need to be able to work closely with the inpatient services and manage a caseload of service users & support primary nurses with physical health care planning.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will join a multidisciplinary NHS mental health service dedicated to providing secure services.
