Role summary

This role is for an Applied Psychologist with an interest in perinatal mental health to join a specialist team. You will deliver care to families experiencing mental health difficulties related to pregnancy, birth, and the first two years after birth. The position involves providing specialist assessment, evidence-based psychological therapy, and offering consultation and supervision to multidisciplinary teams. Regular regional travel is required.

Essential criteria

  • Doctoral level training in clinical psychology or DCounsPsy, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS.

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate clinician to join our perinatal psychology team, to deliver specialist care across HIOWH. Our team supports people experiencing mental health difficulties related to pregnancy, birth and the first 2 years after their baby is born. We are committed to promoting the emotional wellbeing of the families we support with keeping baby in mind, being a central value we hold.

You would be joining a friendly and supportive psychology team of clinicians, who pride ourselves on delivering high quality care and promoting recovery. We are committed to continuing professional development and self-care, and ensuring staff are able to achieve the right work-life balance. All psychology practitioners within the service are embedded within MDTs contributing to the delivery of trauma-informed care, and offering psychological assessment and evidence-based therapies.
