Role summary
This role is for a qualified Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) to join the team at Conquest Hospital in Hastings. The department performs a wide range of surgeries including General, Orthopaedics, ENT, OBS & Gynae, Breast services, and Trauma/CEPOD, with robotic surgery introduced in 2024. The successful candidate will support senior practitioners and matron in delivering efficient, effective, and safe patient care in the peri-operative setting. The role involves providing compassionate care to patients with dignity and respect. The hospital's theatre complex has eight main theatres and one OBS/GYNAE theatre.
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse or Registered Operating Department Practitioner
Desirable criteria
- Working towards Mentorship and CPD at degree level
- Experience of working in a Healthcare setting.
- Experience of working in an acute hospital setting
- Skills /Knowledge/Abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to lead the Multi-disciplinary Team in the absence of more senior staff.

Job summary
We are looking for qualified Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) to join our team at Conquest Hospital in Hastings.
We carry out a wide range of surgery includingGeneral Surgery, Orthopaedics, ENT, OBS & Gynae, Breast services and Trauma/CEPOD.
Along with Robotic General and Gynae surgery since 2024.
The Theatre complex at Conquest has eight main Theatres and one OBS/GYNAE Theatre and we are looking for enthusiastic applications to help us on our journey to outstanding by 2020, our recent CQC report was rated as "Good."

Main duties of the job
To support the Senior Theatre Practitioners, Department Deputy Leads and Matron in maintaining an efficient and effective service delivering safe patient care within an environment that promotes a responsive approach to changing healthcare needs.
- Provides care to patients in the Peri-operative/Day Surgery/Theatre/PACU setting.
- Cares for patients compassionately with dignity and respect, acknowledging them as individuals.
