Role summary
This role involves leading and supervising the Imaging Care Assistant team across various imaging locations, including Derriford Hospital and peripheral sites. Essential criteria
- Demonstrable team leader experience in caring field or customer services
- Demonstrable experience in IT packages
- Demonstrable experience of working within a health care or customer service environment
Desirable criteria
- Recent demonstration of healthcare experience within hospital environment
- oHold an NVQ Level 3 in a care related subject, or be prepared to study for one or hold equivalent demonstrable experience
- Leadership qualification / NVQ or above
- Clinical Skills in patient observations
- IV cannulation qualification
- Ability to travel to other UHP sites as and when required.

- Ability to prioritise workload
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a large team
- Ability to read, understand and follow Trust policies and procedures

Job summary
The Medical Imaging Service Line at Derriford Hospital and its peripheral sites provides diagnostic and treatment pathways for a wide range of emergency and elective patients across the South West through the use of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT), Ultrasound (US), Interventional Radiology (IR), Plain Film (PF), Nuclear Medicine and Fluoroscopy.
- To provide a high-quality patient-centred service across Derriford Hospital, the Community Diagnostic Centre and other peripheral imaging locations as required.
- To support the effective day-to-day delivery and operation of the Imaging Department, ensuring safe and efficient patient flow and optimal use of resources.
- To supervise and coordinate the Imaging Care Assistant (ICA) workforce, providing operational leadership, staff support, roster management and service cover across multiple imaging modalities and locations.
- To participate in and support a seven-day service, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and emergency cover in line with departmental requirements.
