Role summary

This role is for a Clinical Administrator/Call Handler within the newly developed Care Co-Ordination hub. You will be the first point of contact for patients, carers, and referrers, managing urgent and non-urgent cases to prevent hospital admissions. Responsibilities include call handling, processing referrals, scheduling appointments, and managing stock. The position requires working various shift patterns, including nights, and involves using clinical recording systems.

Essential criteria

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective organisational skills such as planning organising and prioritising.

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of using EMIS system.
  • Knowledge of medical terms.
  • Physical Skills
  • Competent with IT, with proven keyboard skills.
  • Level 3 Standard/NVQ in Business and Administration or the equivalent experience.
  • GCSE Maths and English C or above, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years office experience.
  • Efficient Typing Skills.
  • Good standard of general education.
  • At least 2 years experience working in a clerical post.
  • Good standard of written and verbal English.
  • Previous customer service experience as in experience of working with the general public, dealing with face-to-face and/or telephone enquires.
  • Experience of a full range of secretarial procedures including diary management and arranging meetings.
  • Experience of handling confidential information.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to prioritise workload.
  • Experience of working in NHS or a healthcare environment.
  • Knowledge of local health services.
  • Experience of minute taking.

Job summary

Are you looking for a new challenge?

The newly developed Care Co-Ordination hub are looking to recruit

multiple Clinical Administrator/Call Handlers to be based at Clarendon,

Windmill Way, Hebburn NE31 1AT. The successful candidates will be expected to

rotate across the below shift patterns.

  • 8am-4pm
  • 10am-6pm
  • 12pm-8pm
  • 8pm-8am Night Shift

Please note that shift patterns are actively being reviewed,

therefore there may be changes to shift pattern times in the near future as the

team grows. An example of shift patterns being considered are (7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm and Night Shift 11pm-7am).

Posts available (Full and Part Time):

  • x3 37.5 hours
  • x1 32.5 hours

Job share would be considered.
