Role summary
This role is for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Mental Health Nurse to join the Community Mental Health Team, working with adults. The practitioner will manage individual casework, maintain high standards of care, and deliver professional services using evidence-based practice. They will also participate in team meetings and promote the recovery agenda for service users. The position focuses on supporting the development and delivery of community mental health services.
Key responsibilities

- Participate in team meetings and review client care and needs with senior team members.
- Take responsibility for maintaining and advancing own professional knowledge.
Essential criteria
- Core professional qualification (e.g., RMN, CQSW, OT)
- Degree or equivalent level qualification
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Working knowledge of legislation and policy relevant to a Mental Health setting (e.g: Mental Health Act, NSF)
- Skills in the assessment of risk and deliberate self harm
- Experience of implementing significant changes in working practices
- Experience of monitoring standards of care
- Experience of providing supervision
- Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
- Working knowledge of a wide range of mental health conditions
- The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in providing mental health services to adults within relevant settings.
- Experience of providing clinical supervision and training of clinical and/or support staff
- Specialist knowledge relevant to service
- Working knowledge of all relevant legislation
- Evidence of undertaking audit work
- Demonstrate alignment with Trust Values (6 C's: Commitment, Communication, Care, Courage, Compassion, Competency)
Desirable criteria
- Training in Exposure & Response Prevention and Anxiety Management Techniques
- Knowledge of/expertise in other therapeutic models
- Mentor qualification
- Evidence of using Microsoft Software
- Experience of providing Mental Health interventions in home and community settings
- Evidence of participation on research/audit
