Role summary
This role is for a proactive and enthusiastic Community Nursery Nurse within the Trafford Early Development Service (TEDS). You will work with families and young children with developmental delays or special educational needs to improve health and social outcomes. The position involves undertaking clinical duties delegated by a Health Visitor and conducting developmental play sessions using the Portage model. You will also be responsible for creating support plans with parents/carers and tracking child development.
Essential criteria
- Nursery Nurse qualification NVQ Level 3
- Experience of working with children
- Experience of working as part of a team. Recent experience of work in a care setting.
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of work in the community.
- An understanding of the work of the Health Visitor.
- Knowledge of working in the community within a care setting.
- Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work within clear boundaries as defined by Health Visitor.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to visit clients in a variety of community locations.
- Adaptable and flexible to needs of the service.
- Work Related Circumstances
- Use of a car or access to a means of mobility to travel across the Trust footprint in line with service needs.
- Willing to carry out all duties and responsibilities of the post in accordance with the Trust's Equal Opportunities and Equality and Diversity policies
- Appointments to regulated and controlled activities require an enhanced DBS disclosure.

We are looking to recruit pro-active, enthusiastic and motivated Community Nursery Nurses with strong team-working skills and a commitment to delivering high quality, child-centred services.
Whilst successful applicants will primarily work within one team, you may be required to work at other locations across Trafford to ensure equitable service delivery. Core service hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:30.
