Role summary
This is a development post for an experienced radiographer to become a Deputy Superintendent Radiographer (Fluoroscopy/Interventional Radiology) and a Trainee Reporting Radiographer at West Middlesex University Hospital. The role involves supporting fluoroscopy and interventional radiology services while undertaking postgraduate training to report Adult Contrast Swallow examinations. Progression from Band 6 to Band 7 is expected within 12-24 months upon completion of a progression checklist.
Key responsibilities
- Deputise for the Superintendent Radiographer in their absence.
- Assist with workforce planning and daily operational management.
- Support staff development, appraisals and competency assessment.
- Lead elements of quality improvement and service transformation.
- Independently perform and report Adult Contrast Swallow examinations within agreed scope of practice (once qualified as B7 reporting radiographer).
- Provide specialist advice to referrers and multidisciplinary teams regarding Adult Contrast Swallow examinations.

This Deputy Superintendent Radiographer (Fluoroscopy/Interventional Radiology)/Trainee Reporting Radiographer Development Post offers an opportunity for an experienced radiographer to develop within a progressive imaging service at West Middlesex University Hospital.
As a progression post, the successful candidate will be appointed as a Band 6. Upon completion of the attached progression checklist, they will be uplifted to Band 7. Progression is expected to take between 12-24 months.Please review the attached progression checklist for further details.
