Role summary
This is a rotational Pharmacy Technician role based at Grantham and District Hospital, working 37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will participate in ward-based, dispensary, and aseptic dispensing services, including weekend and bank holiday rotas. You will need excellent communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare staff. Experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital or community setting is required, with desirable experience in specific computer systems like Ascribe or JAC.
Key responsibilities
- Participate in ward-based, Dispensary, and Aseptic Dispensing Services.
- Work across a range of general and specialist areas including Admissions Unit, General Medical and Surgical, Haematology and Oncology and Critical Care wards.
- Participate in the existing Weekend and Bank Holiday Rotas within the Pharmacy Dispensary.
- Communicate effectively with patients, nursing staff, prescribers and other health care staff.
- Travel to other sites within the Trust as required.
Essential criteria
- NVQ/BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent
- Registered as a pharmacy technician/or ability to register as a Pharmacy Technician
- Evidence of accuracy checking competency (or ability to work towards)
- Experience working as a Pharmacy Technician (or Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician) in a hospital, retail pharmacy, community, or other environment.
- Experience working with members of public.
- Maintain accuracy while under pressure.
