Job summary

The Band 5 rotational Occupational Therapy post offers newly qualified Occupational Therapists the opportunity of gaining experience in a variety of acute inpatient clinical settings including care of the elderly, stroke, specialist medicine and orthopaedics & surgery. The post holder will provide high quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions to a wide variety of patients in liaison with the multidisciplinary team and community partners.

Main duties of the job

  • To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own clinical and professional work, including the management of patients in your care
  • To undertake comprehensive occupational therapy assessments of patients with a range of health and social care needs for presentations including but not limited to; medical and respiratory pathologies, orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions, gastrointestinalconditions, frailty, falls and stroke
  • To gather relevant medical, clinical and social information and analyse and interpret all information gained to guide intervention
  • Formulate and deliver an occupational therapy treatment programme based on sound knowledge of evidence based practice and treatment options, using clinical assessmen
