Role summary
This role is for a skilled Mental Health Practitioner to join a new Mental Health Support Team (MHST) in Bolton. You will provide low-intensity, evidence-based CBT interventions to young people in educational settings, manage risk, and promote mental well-being. The position involves working closely with education professionals to embed a whole-school approach to mental health and providing clinical supervision to other practitioners. You will use your clinical skills to deliver meaningful interventions and support children, young people, and their families.
Essential criteria
- CBT, EMHP, CYWP qualification
- Completion of an EMHP Supervisors Course
- Evidence of continuing professional development in the field of child and adolescent mental health
Desirable criteria
- Completion of a CYP improving access to psychological therapies certificate.
- Experience of assessment and delivering low intensity cognitive behavioural therapy interventions. oExperience of Multi-disciplinary working within a CAMHS setting oExperience and knowledge of implementing safeguarding procedures for children and adults. oExperience in utilising and interpreting routine outcome measures in practice. oExperience of peer supervision, supervising colleagues in the multi-disciplinary team and consultation in other agency settings.
- oExperience of supporting young people in an educational setting
- oUnderstanding of child and adolescent development. oKnowledge of risk assessment and safety planning. oKnowledge of legislation related to children and/or adolescent's mental health and social care e.g. Mental Health Act, Child Protection and Safeguarding of Vulnerable Children etc oUnderstanding and knowledge of psychological models of brief intervention.
- oAbility to teach and train others using multi-media materials suitable for presentation within public. oLevel of knowledge of research methodology and data analysis as practiced within the clinical fields of child and adolescent mental health.
- oAbility to utilise CYP assessment skills and routine outcome measures effectively including suitability and risk assessments. oAbility to apply therapeutic knowledge to clinical practice. oEffective communication skills in respond to a variety of needs and situation. oGood organisational/time management skills as an autonomous practitioner oAbility to work autonomously in the community and use own initiative and make appropriate decisions. oMust demonstrate a commitment to the overall vision of the development of the professional group of mental health practitioners in education settings. oKnowledge and experience of using Microsoft word applications, including PowerPoint and excel.

Job summary
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a new service which we are delivering across Bolton: The Mental Health Support Team (MHST).
We are looking for skilled practitioners, with mental health experience, who can provide low intensity evidenced based CBT interventions, manage risk and are passionate about young person-centred practice.
