Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Band 5 Radiographer to join Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust. The role involves undertaking radiographic examinations to a high standard across various modalities including A&E, outpatient Plain Film, CT, Fluoroscopy, Theatres, and Dental Imaging. You will be expected to participate in the department's seven-day service and out-of-hours duties, contributing to a high-quality imaging service and continuous professional development.
Key responsibilities
- To observe Ionising Radiation Regulations and local policies, promoting radiation protection.
- To undertake radiographic examinations to a high standard and provide a high-quality imaging service.
- To participate in clinical audit and continuous professional development (CPD).
- To independently prioritise and organise workload, especially out of hours.
- To supervise and assess students and assistant practitioners, making judgements on their competency.
Essential criteria
- DCR / BSC Diagnostic Radiography
- HCPC Registration
- Have previous experience of working within an imaging department
- Evidence of CPD
- Ability to assess and develop junior colleagues
- Experience of Imaging Modalities
- Flexible attitude to departmental duties
- Ability to work within a team
- Aware of own strengths and weaknesses
- Committed to quality improvement
- Evidence of up to date knowledge, including radiation protection
- Knowledge of health and safety
- Computer Literacy
- Able to foster good working relationships
