Role summary
This role is for a Senior Staff Nurse on Elephant ward, a Haematology/Oncology department caring for children aged 0-12. The successful candidate will promote continuous improvements in patient care through research and evidence-based practice, and act as a mentor to students. Applicants must be SACT competent.
Elephant ward is part of a large Haematology/Oncology department that cares for children from 0-12 years old. We are committed to working in partnership with the community teams and shared care centre in order to provide the highest quality care for children and their families. The unit provides a dynamic environment with opportunities to be involved in research and the care of children undergoing treatments- such as high dose therapy, stem cell rescue and antibody treatments.
This unit is committed to professional development and offer extensive educational opportunities including study to degree and masters level.
Main duties of the job
The job will entail promoting a positive attitude towards continuing improvements in patient care through research and evidence based practice and acting as a mentor to students. The wards promote staff development through challenges and daily support, with excellent opportunities to build upon your knowledge base practice and nursing skills.
To be successful for this role, you will need to meet all the essential criteria outlined in the job description.
