Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist to join the Infection & Immunity team at Barts Health NHS Trust. The role involves developing specialist skills across HIV, Sexual Health, and Hepatitis C services, delivering patient-centred clinical pharmacy services in both inpatient and outpatient settings. You will provide clinical oversight for the HIV home delivery service and support high-quality pharmacy services for GUM/Sexual reproductive health and Hepatitis C. The post holder will also lead and contribute to audit, quality improvement projects, and service reviews, while supporting the education and development of pharmacy staff.
Essential criteria
- oMPharm or equivalent
- oRegistered as a pharmacist with the GPhC
- oPostgraduate diploma in Clinical Pharmacy / Pharmacy Practice or equivalent
- oRCPharm Advanced Framework accreditation, or willing to work towards

- oMSc in a suitable area
- oAdvanced HIV module
- oMember of RCPharm
- oIndependent prescribing Qualification
- oSignificant post-registration experience in a hospital based clinical post.
- oExperience of providing a hospital based service to HIV patients at band 7 level or equivalent
- oExperience of undertaking research, quality improvement or audit projects
- oDemonstrate successful performance in a previous clinical post
- oTo have been involved in bringing about change to a service/department.
- oExperience in supervising and organising staff and work
- oExperience of evaluation or reviews of medicine
- oExperience of providing evaluated information on drug expenditure
- oEvidence of service developments, outcomes and publications
- oExperience of successfully managing and leading projects
- oExperience of managing staff and performing appraisals and giving feedback
- oExcellent interpersonal skills
- oEffective verbal and written communication skills
- oAssertive, diplomatic persuasive with ability to negotiate
- oAble to complete documentation accurately with attention to detail
- oAble to work unsupervised, accurately follow written procedures and work under pressure
- oDemonstrates numeracy skills and ability to perform accurate, complex calculations

- oDemonstrates ability to deliver staff training
- oExperience investigating and managing medication-related incidents.
