Role summary
This is a part-time, fixed-term opportunity for an experienced and motivated Colorectal Clinical Nurse Specialist at Kettering General Hospital. The role involves providing expert clinical care and holistic support to patients with colorectal cancer, working autonomously within a multidisciplinary team. The post holder will also undertake a leadership role, with direct line management responsibility for Band 6 CNS staff, patient support workers, and administrative staff. Significant experience in colorectal cancer care is essential.
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse/Current NMC registration
- Nursing Degree or equivalent level of education, training or experience
- Recognised teaching/montoring qualification
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Advanced Communication training or willingness to undertake
- Postgraduate Certificate in Oncology/Colorectal Cancer
Desirable criteria
- MSc relevant to clinical practice or willing to work towards
- Counselling Experience
- Highly developed communication skills and Interpersonal skills
- Liaison, influencing and negotiation skills.
- Documentation of a high standard - Report Writing
- IT Literacy
- Caseload and workload management skills
- Audit skills - Data collection and analytical skills
- Presentation skills
- IT technology development
- Experience in management of whole systems provision of care.
- Evidence of Operational Management in a clinical
- Knowledge / experience Specialist knowledge or interest in speciality
- Maintaining patient information databases.
- Making direct referrals to members of MDT.
- Working in partnership with internal and external agencies.
- Evidence of primary care health delivery strategy.
- Development of clinical practice.
- Strategic development of health initiatives.
- Development of education and training.

Job summary
Fixed Term Contract Maternity Cover - end date 27th June 2027. This is a part-time position of 34 hours per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated nurse to join the Colorectal Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) team at Kettering General Hospital.
The post holder will undertake a leadership role within the team, with direct line management responsibility for Band 6 CNS staff, patient support workers and administrative staff, while also working as an autonomous practitioner.
The successful candidate will be a key member of the Colorectal Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), providing specialist advice, support and education to patients and their families, as well as to healthcare professionals across the wider service.
