Role summary

The Central Lancashire Community Bladder and Bowel Service is seeking a motivated Pelvic floor Specialist Physiotherapist. This role involves managing a clinical caseload, undertaking holistic assessments, treatment planning, and evaluation of care for patients with bladder, bowel, and pelvic floor dysfunction. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care and shaping future service development. The service is a supportive multi-disciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide a high standard of specialist physiotherapy input to the designated therapy team.
  • Assess and treat patients within a ward or community setting as an autonomous practitioner.
  • Conduct physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions to provide a diagnosis and deliver an individualised treatment programme.
  • Hold responsibility for own complex caseload and be responsible for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type, working without direct supervision.
  • Supervise, educate and assess the performance of physiotherapy students to ensure the standard of practice and teaching meets the degree standard.

Essential criteria

  • HCPC Registration Degree / Diploma in Physiotherapy Evidence of CPD in relevant areas
  • Experience and ability to work effectively within an MDT Evidence of clinical topic training / staff presentations
  • Evidence of supervision of assistant staff / students
  • Knowledge and appreciation of lone working risks
  • Treatment of a broad range of conditions.
  • Demonstrable evidence of improving and developing service /practice Evidence of leading and implementing clinical change
  • Multi-disciplinary/multi-agency collaborative working.

Job summary

The Central Lancashire Community Bladder and Bowel Service is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Pelvic floor Specialist Physiotherapist to join our service.

The Bladder & Bowel service is a multi-disciplinary team of nurses, physiotherapists and Health Care assistant and is led by a specialist physiotherapist. The service has a supportive and warm culture where everyone's contribution is valued.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care while helping to shape the future development of bladder and bowel services across Central Lancashire.

As a Pelvic Floor Specialist Physiotherapist, you will manage a clinical caseload, undertaking holistic assessments, treatment planning, implementation and evaluation of care for patients experiencing bladder, bowel and pelvic floor dysfunction.

Main duties of the job

Provide a high standard of specialist physiotherapy input to the designated therapy team. Hours may be required to be worked over 7 days between 08.00am and 08.00pm, depending on service need.
