Role summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Podiatrist with a specialist interest in High Risk and Vascular Podiatry. The role involves performing specialist podiatry assessments for patients with complex conditions and developing individual treatment programs. You will manage high-risk and vascular caseloads, coordinate integrated pathways, and provide clinical supervision to staff and students. The position requires an enthusiastic individual to innovate the High Risk and Vascular Foot care agenda within the Trust.

Essential criteria

  • Degree/Diploma in Podiatry
  • Certification of Local Anaesthetic
  • HCPC Registration
  • Portfolio evidence of CPD

Desirable criteria

  • Membership of Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists.
  • Post graduate qualification in diabetic foot
  • Relevant post graduate experience of a range of complex foot problems including diabetic/vascular clinics, nail surgery, rheumatology and bio-mechanical assessments
  • Experience of working as part of a Podiatry team and the wider MDT (e.g Medical staff, Physiotherapists, Orthotists)
  • Experience of delegating to and supervising Footcare/ Technical Instructors/ Rehabilitation Assistants.
  • Contribution to the clinical education of less experienced staff or undergraduate Podiatry students.
  • Involvement in audit and research

As a practicing Clinician you will perform specialist podiatry assessments of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions, to provide a diagnosis and to develop and deliver a specialised individual treatment program across various settings, including the domiciliary caseload to benefit the patients needs.
