Role summary
This role is for a Clinical Educator to join the Outpatient Clinical Support Service on a fixed-term basis. The post holder will develop and implement an educational framework for outpatient nursing staff, leading the creation of learning packages and competencies for induction, preceptorship, and mentorship. They will also support the development of clinical practice mentors and assessors, ensuring high standards of education and improving clinical practice across outpatient and phlebotomy areas. The role involves working with both registered and unregistered staff to enhance care delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, support, and implement an educational framework for new and experienced outpatient nursing staff of all grades.
- Lead the development and implementation of learning packages and competencies for induction, preceptorship, and mentorship.
- Play a lead role in ensuring the development of clinical staff (registered and unregistered) within Outpatients and phlebotomy.
- Enable the development of clinical practice mentors, assessors, and key trainers, providing supervision and continuous professional development.
- Lead clinical education and associated resources in Outpatients and phlebotomy clinical areas.
- Support the assessment of clinical practice learning environments and implement interventions for improvement.

Job summary

Working closely with the Head of Nursing, Clinical Educator and Matrons you will develop, support and implement an educational framework for both new and experienced outpatient nursing staff of all grades. You will be expected to lead the work with Sister/Charge nurses on developing and implementing learning packages and competencies to support induction, preceptorship, and mentorship for the registered and unregistered workforce across the Outpatient service.
Main duties of the job
The job holder will play a lead role in ensuring the development of clinical staff both registered and unregistered. The job holder will enable the development of clinical practice mentors, assessors and key trainers, providing supervision through on-site support and Trust wide continuous professional development activities. The post holder will be responsible for leading clinical education and associated resources in Outpatients and phlebotomy clinical areas. The successful candidate will provide a high standard of education.
