Role summary

This rotational Specialist Physiotherapist role at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals Trust offers the opportunity to develop specialist clinical knowledge and leadership expertise. The successful candidate will provide physiotherapy to patients in an acute setting, aiming to maximise independence and prevent deconditioning. Rotations are available across various specialities including Trauma and Orthopaedics, acute Surgery, Respiratory, Acute Medicine, Cardiology, and Frailty. The role involves working across both The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and The Princess Royal Hospital in Telford, including participation in weekend and on-call rotas.

Essential criteria

  • Degree or qualification equivalent in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC registration

Desirable criteria

  • Completed additional non mandatory CPD relevant to the role
  • Experience working in a broad range of NHS rotations at band 5 level
  • Evidence of working on an NHS overnight on call rota and willingness to complete in this role
  • Evidence of 7 day NHS working and willingness to complete in this role
  • Evidence of audit and or service improvement
  • Understanding of current NHS strategy / Trust Strategy
  • Leadership
  • Previous experience supervising or mentoring students or therapy support workers in an NHS setting
  • Evidence of managing difficult situations
  • Evidence of leadership training

Job summary

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals Trust (SaTH) is delighted to offer the role of rotational Specialist Physiotherapist to advert; the post is ideally suited to a candidate seeking opportunity to grow specialist clinical knowledge as well as leadership expertise.

Our rotations are based at both The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and The Princess Royal Hospital in Telford. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to explore rotations within Trauma and Orthopaedics, acute Surgery including post amputation, Respiratory including Paediatrics, Acute Medicine, Cardiology and Frailty at a specialist level.

SaTH is in the process of undertaking a massive period of investment in our services and facilitates across both sites as part of the Hospital Transformation Plan. Within these plans we are hopeful to see additional specialist area's added to the rotation wheel.

We are proud to offer therapy to patients across 7 days a week. As part of this position the successful applicant would be supported to join our weekend rota's including acute Respiratory, Orthopaedics' and general therapeutic progression.
