Role summary

This role involves managing, administering, and coordinating clerical procedures for Breast Assessment Clinics, ensuring compliance with National Quality Assurance Guidelines. Key duties include identifying potential breaches in targets, ensuring data accuracy for clinical governance, and supporting the Administration Manager in leading the Breast Care Centre Administration & Clerical team. The post holder will also oversee the Assessment Admin Team and assist in training and mentoring clerical staff. Flexibility to work across different hospital sites may be required.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide effective management, administration and co-ordination of all clerical procedures concerning Breast Assessment Clinics in accordance with National Quality Assurance Guidelines.
  • Identify potential breaches and solutions of National Quality Assurance targets in waiting times to assessment to the Administration Manager and the Screening Director.
  • Ensure data accuracy to support Clinical Governance and Audit both locally and nationally.
  • Attendance and participation at Breast MDTs. Collation of results and notes in preparation for client's attending Breast Screening Results Clinics.
  • Support both the Administration Manager and the Deputy Administration Manager in the management and leadership of the Breast Care Centre Administration & Clerical (A&C) team.
  • Oversee and lead the Assessment team ensuring all staff are fully trained and competent to prepare and sit the clinics.

Essential criteria

  • Math and English G.C.S.E Grade or equivalent
  • Accurate and concise keyboard skills
  • Excellent standard of written and spoken English
  • Minimum of 2 years within an Admin role
  • Experience of working with and complying to national initiatives and targets
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Recent and comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Able to solve problems and take preventative actions, referring to others where appropriate
  • Must be able to demonstrate behaviours consistent with the Trust's Values and Behaviours
  • High level of verbal and written skills
  • Logically & methodically minded
  • Ability to absorb information
  • Possess good numerical skills

In particular, flexibility is required across the three main hospital sites (Leicester RoyalInfirmary, Leicester General Hospital and Glenfield Hospital).
