Role summary
This is a locum Specialist Biomedical Scientist position in Microbiology, based in a busy NHS laboratory in London. The role involves processing high volumes of routine microbiology specimens, including culture, identification, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing. Successful applicants will work within ISO 15189/UKAS accredited laboratory standards, maintaining high quality and accuracy. Various shift patterns are available, including full-time nights, evening and night shifts, or a full 24/7 rota.
Essential criteria
- BSc (Hons) Degree in Biomedical Science or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientist
- A minimum of 4 years' post-registration/postgraduate experience working exclusively within a routine Microbiology laboratory.
- Previous experience in a high-volume hospital laboratory, such as an NHS, government, university teaching, or tertiary referral hospital or large Private laboratories based in the UK
- BSc (Hons) Degree in Biomedical Science or an equivalent recognised qualification.

Main duties of the job
